How we can help

The Political Section of the Embassy promotes bilateral political and defence relations between Britain and Korea, and works closely with the Korean Government to address international issues of concern.

The Trade & Investment Section supports British exports to, and investment in, Korea, providing a wide range of services to both British and Korean businesses. It helps Koreans make sound investment decisions, based on the section's commercial expertise and unrivalled local access and knowledge. UK Trade & Investment is the lead Government organization created to support overseas business seeking to set up or expand in the UK.

The Economic Section reports on economic developments in South Korea and promotes economic co-operation between the UK and South Korea. It works with the Korean Government to resolve key market access and trade policy issues.

The Science & Innovation Section's aim is to make Korea and Britain more aware of each others' strengths in S&I and Research & Development, and to look for opportunities to promote interaction.

The Environment and Energy Section works with the Korean Government, media, business, NGOs and academics to share information and expertise in order to accelerate the global transition to a high growth, low carbon economy.

The Press and Public Affairs Section provides information about Britain and British Government policies to the media and to the general public. It offers press and television services for journalists, and an extensive range of general information.

The Consular Section provides advisory services and help to British Citizens in Korea. It issues British passports, and registers births and deaths of British subjects in Korea.

The Visa Section handles application for entry to the United Kingdom and British Dependant Territories, and for those Commonwealth countries we act on behalf of here in Korea. It provides advice on all aspects of UK Immigration requirements.

The Management Section is responsible for all personnel and financial resources and provides support to all front line departments

The primary role of the Defence Section is to provide timely defence advice to the Ambassador. In addition, the Defence Section has representational duties that contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations between the UK and the Republic of Korea.
