Science & Innovation Network Korea Events 2009

18-20 February 2009 International Nano Technology Exhibition-Conference in Tokyo, Japan: 6 Korean companies (Samsung Electronics, LG Chemical, Hyundai Motors, Hyosung Corporation, The National Programme for Tera-level Nanodevices, and Kolon Fashion Material Research Institute) will visit Tokyo on a SIN Korea programme. 15 British companies will also attend. 16-18 March 2009 UK-Asia Emerging Public Health Challenges Workshop in Beijing, China : 25 invited speakers (policy makers and researchers) from UK, Korea, and China will participate. (SIN contact: hyeyoung.kim@fco.gov.uk)

20-24 April 2009 Hannover Messe in Hannover, Germany : Hannover Messe is the world's largest and most important showcase for industrial technology. This year's keynote theme is Energy Efficiency in Industrial Processes. 178 Korean companies and around 100 researchers will participate. 20-21 May 2009 All Energy in Aberdeen, Scotland : The All Energy Exhibition and Conference is the UK's largest event devoted to renewable energy. This is highly relevant to companies actively involved in all areas of the renewable energy industry- wind (onshore and offshore), wave, tidal, hydro, hydrogen and fuel cells, solar and biofuels. 5 Korean researchers will attend.

2-4 June 2009  EuroLED 2009   in Ricoh Arena, UK : Euro LED is Europe's premier event dedicated to solid state lighting. The event offers a good opportunity for global organisations to penetrate, expand and understand the European and global LED & solid-state lighting markets and continues to generate industry participation from leading organisations. A Korean delegation is planning to attend the event.

16-18 September 2009 BioKorea 2009 in Seoul, Korea: BioKorea 2009 will highlight innovative bio products and will promote research and development partnerships between Korean businesses and their overseas counterparts. (SIN contact: hyeyoung.kim@fco.gov.uk)

3-4 November 2009 UK NanoForum and Emerging Technologies in London, UK: In its fourth year running, the event will bring over 100 senior international delegates and 350 UK delegates together to network and identify potential business and collaboration opportunities. The programme includes breakout sessions covering Life Sciences & Healthcare; Energy & Environment; and Materials & Devices to provide a platform for discussion on how nanotechnology can meet global and societal challenges. 1-5 November 2009 The 13th International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences (MicroTas2009) in Jeju, Korea: There will be a satellite session on UK-Korea life science research collaboration led by Soo-Ik Chang (Chungbuk National Univ.) and Andrew deMello (Imperial College, London). 4-6 November 2009 International Symposium on GPS/GNSS in Jeju, Korea: The Korean GNSS Technology Council (GTC) will invite scientists, engineers, manufacturers, service providers and representatives of national organisations to the GPS/GNSS 2009. The world is now waiting a new GNSS such as European Galileo and Chinese COMPASS. GNSS becomes an essential technology for modern life represented by Ubiquitous era and expands its influence to uncountable fields that need the timing and positing data. The Symposium will be accompanied by some exhibitions relating to GNSS, technical visits and social programmes.

5-7 November 2009 RFID/USN Korea in Seoul, Korea: The conference introduces newest technologies, market trend, and a standardisation, cases for RFID/USN(WSN), the core to the ubiquitous business. Leading policy makers, CEOs, and IT professionals are invited to talk. 

18-19 November 2009, International Workshop on Flexible & Printable Electronics 2009 (IWFPE09) at Muju Resort, Korea: The IWFPE 09 is designed to promote international academic exchange in the flexible and printable electronics industry, thus contributing to the development of the industry. The IWFPE09 will focus on six sectors (display, signage, lighting, solar cells, RFID, battery) which will be handled in three sessions. 26 November 2009 Science, Technology and Innovation Partnership Conference in London, UK: The Partnership aims to expand the co-operation and collaboration links between Korea and UK covering industrial and commercial players as well as academia. Under the agreement both governments pledge to provide financial support for activities that facilitate such links. A 30 strong delegation from Korea plans to attend.

19-20 May 2010 All-Energy 2010 in Aberdeen , UK:  the leading renewable energy conference, will be held at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 19 and 20 May 2010.
